Connect to Excel, CSV, folders, web and SQL Server; identify Microsoft Fabric as a source.
Compare Import and DirectQuery at a practical level.

Hands-on: Connect a sample sales dataset from Excel/CSV and examine its fields.

Session 02 | Power Query, ETL & Data Cleaning

ETL concepts, query profiling, data types, missing values, errors and duplicates.
Clean, split, replace and reshape columns; merge and append queries.
Applied Steps and introduction to M language.

Hands-on: Prepare and combine raw sales/customer datasets with Power Query.

Week 2: Data Modeling and DAX Fundamentals

Session 03 | Relational Data Modeling

Fact/dimension tables; Star Schema and Snowflake comparisons.
Primary/foreign keys, relationships, cardinality and cross-filter direction.
Calendar table, active/inactive relationships and role-playing dates (overview).
Basic optimization; normalization versus denormalization.

YTD, MTD, running totals, prior-year comparison and RANKX (introductory patterns).

Hands-on: Create budget variance and time-based sales measures.

Use bar/column, line/area, pie/donut, KPI/card, matrix/table and map visuals.
Slicers, filters, drill-down and drill-through; tooltips and conditional formatting.
